I bought three of these, They did not come with the steel ring around the base. Since there is not steel ring with in a week they cracked and will not stay firmly screwed to my pole.

very simple and works well for all of my stuff. I don't know if this is the one but one of mine has the threads in the wood. I don't like to unscrew it because i think it will wear down those threads and not be snug anymore but that hasn't happened. Even so they are like $ 4 so buy a half dozen of em!

I bought this wood cone adapter to put on my WFP's Reach-Around (so that I can put a scraper/doodlebug on it.) For that, it works just right. It's simple, and a useful attachment for anyone to have.

My only gripe (as has been pointed out on Mark's Tool Talk) is that the Unger Ergo-Tec swivel handles don't fit on it, because their swivel mechanism doesn't allow the handle to sink down far enough onto the cone. Maybe cutting a little off the end of the cone would help..?
