Frequently Asked Questions and Helpful Hints
1. How are my files being printed?
Your order is processed through our At Cost Printing program. We are the only print brokers that they service and we have special arrangements with them. This way we can charge you what we get charged at the printer, which is a great discount. Learn more information about the different products, how to order and cost directly at the website.
2. What image formats, file size, resolution, etc. are allowed?
There are strict regulations when it comes to what kind of files are accepted. At Cost Printing accepts the following File formats: JPG, PNG, and PDF. However, they recommend sending JPGs or PDFs for best results. In addition, files should be a minimum of 300 dpi (dot per inch) resolution. Images that are found on the web are compressed to a low screen resolution of 72 dpi. Print images should be created at 300 dpi or the image quality will be extremely poor. Bleed and color mode are also very important. Read more information at the At Cost Printing site.
3. What is the turn around time for the At Cost Printing?
The turn around time from the day your order is placed (keeping in mind there are no file quality issues or payment issues) is usually 3-5 BUSINESS days but could also be less. Please keep in mind when making an order that Saturday and Sunday do not count as business days. The production schedule of your job starts when your order is placed into the production queue and you receive the email saying that your job is in production. For good measure, we recommend leaving at the very least 6 business days before you need to have the finished product in your hands.
4. How much will I get charged for shipping?
The shipping is based on several factors such as weight and box size. The final shipping costs depend on what you order and the quantities. All shipping is estimated via UPS.
5. If I submit a design can we include the EDDM requirements on the rear?
To put it simply, we don't add anything to the designs with the At Cost Print service, we just submit the print orders. We will print whatever you submit. If the EDDM information is already on there or you included it then you are good to go. We don't touch the final files so if you need anything added, such as EDDM requirements, that would be something you would use the Edit Service for.
6. I have a bunch of questions when it comes to EDDM eligible postcards and the information required. Who can I ask?
There are two things we can suggest if you do not know how to handle EDDM postage and everything that goes along with it. First, sign into your account and watch the direct mail webinars posted here. If you still aren't sure of how to edit the pieces we strongly encourage the Edit Service or setting up an appointment with your local post office who can give you more information on EDDM, direct mail, etc.
7. Can I choose a faster shipping rate than Ground?
Absolutely! You can pay more to have your order ship faster. While Ground shipping is the most common because it is cheapest you can also choose from 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air, Next Day Air, etc.
8. I need help! Who can I contact?
Use the Contact form at the At Cost Printing website. They will get back to you asap.
